It's not you, it's me.

Recently I've thought about some projects for the blog that might be funny, or useful, or good for picking your teeth with, or something. The problem is, I hesitate to turn this blog into a Real Project. I get caught up enough in this crazy tango blog world without attempting a serious endeavor, and I'm pretty sure I could be putting energy into my job or my house instead of contemplating a parody of Jennifer Bratt's embellishment series, you know?

On the other hand, I have these hilarious tango shoes I could use...

See? See what happens?! *sigh*

The parody would be fun... she & Ney (sigh... Ney) will be in Seattle in a couple of weeks. It would surely give me something to smile about as I wait for them... I love parodies. I love Jennifer too, but goodness gracious do I love parodies.

I love her to deat, but when normal people attempt her embellishments, it usually ends in disaster. ;)

I don't think it's a bad thing to have projects and plans. For me at least, having an idea what I might write about makes it easier and faster to write, than when I sit down and desperately try to think of something interesting to say. ;)

Oh yeah. The reason people don't look right doing her embellishments is because they are *her* embellishments, and we really should be doing our *own* embellishments. That's my theory anyway.
She and I do a couple of the same things, but I've tried some of her other stuff and it just didn't feel right. 'Cause it's not me, doesn't fit my personality. My favorite embellishments are the ones I make up without even thinking, as a result of being moved by the music. :-)

another reason why her embellies don't work, is because of lack of technique and skill. my feet are so slow, i sometimes feel like an elephant with legs like tree-trunks. grrr...

Fully agree with Tina on the embellishment philosophy, and yet... oh, how much I'd love to try Planch's suggestions!!!!
